"He is intimately familiar with the environmental and sustainability issues facing the forest products industry and he has been a key stakeholder in the NCASI community for nearly two decades. At the same time, we want to recognize Dr. Yeske’s long and distinguished service as NCASI’s President, and extend our best wishes to Ron in his retirement.”

Mr. Krouskop began his career with Mead Corporation as an environmental engineer soon after earning his MS degree in environmental engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He served in various corporate and facility roles including mill Environmental Manager and corporate Director of Regulatory Assurance, followed by appointments as Director of Environmental Programs.

When Mead Corporation and Westvaco Corporation merged in 2002, Dirk was named Managing Director of Safety, Health and Environment for MeadWestvaco. In 2006, he was appointed Vice President – Safety, Health and Environmental, a position that he held until he resigned in November 2014 to lead NCASI. He has been a member of the Environmental Resource Committee of AF&PA since 2006, and currently serves on the Boards of the Virginia Manufacturers Association and the National Association of Environmental Management.

Mr. Krouskop also holds an MBA degree from Ohio University. In conjunction with his health and safety role at MeadWestvaco, Dirk was also responsible for other related programs, including risk management and worker’s compensation.

Dirk has served as an advisor to NCASI through his lengthy involvement with the Operating Committee. He was named to the Operating Committee in 1998 when Russ Kross retired, and has served on the Committee continuously since that time. He was appointed by the Board as Chairman of the Operating Committee, and served in that capacity for two years.

Dr. Yeske was named President Emeritus of NCASI, effective November 17, 2014. In that capacity, he will serve as advisor to Mr. Krouskop during the transition in leadership, until he retires from NCASI service in January 2015.
