NCASI consolidates analytical services to Florida

In the coming weeks, NCASI will begin to consolidate most analytical services functions into existing facilities in Newberry, Florida. This consolidation will involve decommissioning the laboratory at the Corvallis, Oregon office and relocating useable equipment from Corvallis to Newberry.

Transitioning of the Corvallis lab to Newberry will begin immediately and is expected to be completed over the next several months. The transition will also include filling a position of Principal Chemist/Lab Services Manager, recruiting for which has already begun. During this time, NCASI will maintain commitments to conduct analytical work in support of all NCASI programs.

The decision to consolidate laboratory functions into a single location was based on two primary factors: an expressed desire by the NCASI Membership for NCASI to maintain analytical capabilities and research-level analytical expertise; and NCASI’s obligation to our Members to operate at the highest level of financial responsibility, including the best use of the assets that the Members have provided to NCASI.

NCASI will maintain a presence in Corvallis; however, as a result of the elimination of the laboratory services function in Corvallis, NCASI will have reduced office space requirements. Options for providing long-term office space in the Corvallis area for remaining NCASI staff will be evaluated over the coming months and a final decision will be made by the end of the year.

Questions concerning the consolidation of NCASI Analytical Services functions should be directed to Dirk Krouskop, NCASI President.
