Tools - GHG Calc Tools for Pulp and Paper Mills - DOE 1605b Reporting

Description

Go to GHG Calculation Tools overview >>

The calculation tools consist of two parts. The first is a report that describes the approaches for estimating greenhouse gas emissions from pulp and paper mills. The latest version of this report, Version 1.1, was released in July 2005 and is available for download below. The second part is an Excel® spreadsheet to aid in the calculations, containing default approaches and emission factors applicable to an international audience. The original version of the spreadsheet was released in December 2002.

In July 2003, NCASI released an enhanced version of this spreadsheet. It includes an easier-to-use Visual Basic user interface that guides the user through the process of completing a GHG inventory. In addition, this version includes default emission factors and units appropriate for mills in the US. In May 2004, NCASI released an additional enhanced version of the Excel-based tool specifically to conform to the requirements of DOE’s current guidelines for the Voluntary Reporting of Greenhouse Gases (the 1605(b) program). This version includes an easy-to-use Visual Basic user interface that guides the user through the process of completing a GHG inventory, as well as default emission factors and units appropriate for the DOE program. (The user may use factors different than the defaults.) The DOE 1605(b) version of the calculation tools will produce the same results as earlier versions if the same emission factors are used, although the results may be expressed differently in some cases.

The compressed file immediately below contains all of the files listed.
