Technical Bulletin No. 0207: Effects of Heat on Dewaterability of Biological Sludges

The use of low temperature heating for improving the dewatering properties of sewage sludge was investigated many years ago, but little has appeared in the literature regarding the use of this method on other sludges. The lack of such information prompted the study contained in the attached National Council Technical Bulletin which evaluated the effect of heating on the thickening and dewaterability of sludges obtained from biological treatment of paper mill effluents.
