Giovanna Vazquez

Background

Giovanna Vazquez is a research assistant in the Bioassay Laboratory at Southern Regional Center and has been with NCASI since November 2018. Her professional interests include environmental science, ecology, water quality, land use effects on aquatic systems, and marine biology. Giovanna’s academic and professional experience with field sample collection and processing, data analysis, and multiple nutrient and enzymatic analyses stem from long-term research studies on land use-related eutrophication and ecology in rivers and lakes. Her current projects include Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) testing and evaluation of nutrient bioavailability and algal growth in receiving waters.

Qualifications

Giovanna holds a B.S. in Biology from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.
