SIM-12-006: Chemicals Management Plan (CMP) – Section 71 Notice for Petroleum Substances

This memorandum is related to Environment Canada’s and Health Canada’s Chemicals Management Plan (CMP), for substances included in the “Petroleum Stream.” The CMP is a program to address 4,300 priority substances that resulted from the agencies’ legislated review and categorization of the substances on the Domestic Substances List. It appears that a recent Canada Gazette CEPA Section 71 notice applies to non-petroleum sectors, in the case that any of the listed substances are ”imported,” per the specific definition in the notice.
