SIM-13-005: Chemicals Management Plan II – Selenium-Containing Substances Grouping CEPA Section 71 Notice

This is the seventh of a series of NCASI Strategic Information Memoranda (SIMs) related to Environment Canada (EC) and Health Canada (HC) having announced on October 8, 2011 the launch of the second phase of the Chemicals Management Plan, dealing with “medium priority substances.” (See SIM 11-006 for information on CMP II.)  The CMP is a program to address 4,300 priority substances that resulted from EC and HC’s legislated review and categorization of the substances on the Domestic Substances List.  A CEPA Section 71 notice requesting information on a grouping of CMP II substances, related to selenium-containing substances, has been published as a Canada Gazette notice. This information is relevant to all Canadian forest products facilities.
