Technical Bulletin No. 0019: Manual for Sizing and Counting Particles from Kraft Recovery Furnaces (AQTB)

Data on the particle counts and size distributions of the particulates discharged to the atmosphere from industrial or municipal installations is desirable for several reasons. Such information can be used to predict the location and severity of the fallout to be expected and also possible visibility interference. This data is also a prerequisite to the rational selection of additional particulate collection equipment should this be necessary. The attached manual was prepared by the National Council's diversity of Florida Atmospheric Project. While the procedures were designed for the sampling of particles from kraft recovery furnaces, they can be easily extended to cover other particulate matter.
