Technical Bulletin No. 0030: A Manual for Direct Gas Chromatographic Analysis of Sulfur Gases in Process Streams (AQTB)

The attached National Council Air Pollution Technical Bulletin No.30 describes a very rapid and sensitive method for sampling and analyzing kraft mill stack gases utilizing a new chromatographic technique. This method supersedes that described in Technical Bulletin No. 13 and was developed at Washington State University by Mr. Donald F. Adams. Approximately twenty minutes is required to complete a single analysis for sulfur compounds ranging in molecular weight of that of hydrogen sulfide through dimethyl disulfide. It will be useful in determining the effectiveness of various odor control measures taken by mills and in the future the technique may be developed for continuous monitoring to enhance operational control.
