Technical Bulletin No. 0063: Design and Operating Criteria for Primary Treatment of Deinking Waste

Experience in primary treatment of deinking mill washer waste has reached a point where it is possible to set forth general design criteria for such installations. The attached report covers the design factors which have been developed from actual practice and can be relied upon as a planning guide. The report, however, does not obviate the necessity for obtaining careful waste survey data, but is useful only when much information is available. Council engineers are ready to assist member mills in  applying the processes described in this report to their particular set of circumstances. Further information in respect to deinking waste treatment is solicited so that in time the requirements set forth will be strengthened by experience or modified where necessary.
