Technical Bulletin No. 0227: Factors Affecting the Appearance of Surface Waters
The attached report was first presented before a National Council, Ohio Section meeting in 1969 by Dr. Harry W. Gehm, then serving as the National Council's Technical Director. It provided a brief review of both the factors affecting the appearance of surface waters receiving mill effluents and a short inventory of investigations underway at that time related to turbidity and color removal from effluents and the measurement of pulp mill effluent color.
