Technical Bulletin No. 0255: 1971 Review of the Literature on Pulp and Paper Wastes

Each year the National Council staff prepares two annual literature reviews. The first of these is attached, and deals with the literature on water quality protection and waste treatment problems and progress of the pulp and paper industry. It was prepared by George Gove, Research Engineer at the Northeast Regional  Center, and covers 181 literature references, many of which are drawn from foreign periodicals. It is arranging so as to deal with the following subjects: receiving waters and analytical studies; pulping liquor disposal and recovery; physico-chemical treatment; secondary treatment; and effluent disposal aspects of waste paper recycle.
