Technical Bulletin No. 0500: Proceedings of Workshop on Controlled Exposure Techniques and Evaluation of Tree Responses to Airborne Chemicals

Exposing organisms to known doses of potentially harmful compounds under controlled conditions is one of the fundamental investigative techniques of environmental biology. By measuring responses of organisms to varying exposure levels, investigators are able to assess whether a compound poses a risk to a species or biological community. If initial studies indicate the existence of substantial risk, more detailed studies can be conducted to determine the extent and magnitude of risk.
