Technical Bulletin No. 0519: Modified Wet Chemical Method for Determining the H2S Concentration of Calibration Cylinder Gases

In January, 1985 NCASI published Technical Bulletin No. 450, which described a wet chemical method for determining the hydrogen sulfide concentration of cylinder gases in the concentration range of 5 to 30 parts per million (ppm) in nitrogen. Following the publication of this bulletin, a number of representatives from within the industry requested information on the suitability of using this method to analyze calibration cylinder gases containing up to 1500 ppm hydrogen sulfide in nitrogen. Consequently, in 1986 NCASI conducted further studies to develop a suitable method for analyzing higher hydrogen sulfide concentration cylinder gases.
