Technical Bulletin No. 0547: Biological Treatment Practices in the United States and Soviet Paper Industries

In the early 1970’s an agreement was signed between the governments of the United States and Soviet Union under which scientific cooperation was to be undertaken in a wide variety of areas. Among these was environmental quality protection, for which an agreement was reached in May 1972 under which EPA and the USSR State Committee for Hydrometeorology and Control of the Natural Environment are jointly responsible for the cooperation program. Within its broad scope a specific program was organized on prevention of water pollution from industrial and municipal sources.
