Technical Bulletin No. 0669: The Effects of Non-Deinked Recovered Fiber On Raw Waste Loads and Treated Effluent Quality at Non-Integrated Fine Paper and Tissue Mills

Evaluation of available inter-mill data for non-integrated fine paper and tissue mills indicates that these data are subject to too many sources of variability to allow the identification of a relationship between recovered fiber use and raw waste loads of BOD5 and TSS. Mill specific (intra-mill) data and laboratory data have been obtained from four mills. Statistically significant evidence of a relationship between recovered fiber use and raw waste load is available in three of the four data sets.
