Technical Bulletin No. 0675: Volatile Organic Emissions from Pulp and Paper MIll Sources, Part I – Oxygen Delignification Systems

NCASI/Weston Heated SUMMA Canister Method, NCASI Chilled Impinger Method, RTI Draft Method for aldehydes and ketones, and EPA Method 25A were used to determine the emissions of volatile organic HAPs, selected volatile organics, and EPA Method 25A total VOCS from six oxygen delignification systems and two white liquor oxidation systems. Selected process streams were also analyzed for their acetaldehyde, acetone, methanol and methyl ethyl ketone content. The total HAP and VOC emissions from oxygen delignification systems averaged 1.
