Technical Bulletin No. 0741: Volatile Organic Compound Emissions from Non-Chemical Pulp and Paper Mill Sources, Part VI – Test Methods, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Procedures

The sampling and analytical methods, data handling protocols, and quality assurance/quality control procedures used during the study of non-chemical pulp and paper mill sources are described. The emission test methods included an NCASI dilution probe method which used a SUMMATM canister and a 2,4-DNPH coated silica gel sorbent tube for volatile organic HAPs and a modified EPA Method 25A for total VOCs. The canister samples were cryogenically concentrated and analyzed on a gas chromatograph equipped with a mass selective detector.
