Technical Bulletin No. 0827: Assessment of Endotoxins in Workplace Atmospheres

Interest in the potential effects of biological agents in the workplace environment continues to grow. The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) recommends including an assessment of biologically derived contaminants, including microorganisms and fragments, toxins, and particulate waste products of living organisms, during investigations of work-related disease. One bioaerosol (airborne particles that are living or originate from living organisms) of interest to the forest products industry is endotoxin.
