Mohsen Asadi, Ph.D.

Senior Research Scientist, Canadian Mill Environment / Chercheur scientifique senior, Environnement pour les usines canadiennes

Location: Canadian Operations – Montreal, QC

Background

Dr. Mohsen Asadi joined NCASI in January 2024 as a senior research scientist for the Canadian Mill Environment Program. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan (USask). His research focused on greenhouse gas emission quantifications and wastewater treatment process optimizations in which a hybrid approach of novel data-driven modeling and experiments was developed. Before joining NCASI, Mohsen was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at USask and collaborated with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), and communities within Saskatchewan to develop an early-warning system for the viral disease spread using wastewater surveillance. Additionally, he led a team of graduate students to enhance green energy (biogas) production from anaerobic digestion of waste and sludge at the Saskatoon Wastewater Treatment Plant in collaboration with the City of Saskatoon. Outside the office, Mohsen enjoys soccer, road trips, and spending time with family and friends.
