Optimizing Roundwood Wet Storage Strategies

A decade of NCASI research has addressed multiple fundamental questions about the relationship between water application and roundwood moisture content and fiber quality.

While several journal articles have been published in the peer-review literature, there is no single technical resource for mill and wet yard managers to reference when seeking answers to questions about water application and roundwood moisture content and fiber quality. Therefore, developing a single technical reference document will help wood procurement managers further improve their decision-making practices to retain the maximum amount of value in stored roundwood and reduce water use.

Primary Investigators from the University of Georgia and Oregon State University will work with NCASI staff to develop a Technical Bulletin that documents the entirety of NCASI’s research on roundwood wet storage.
