Fiber Sourcing

Maximizing productivity and maintaining the highest environmental benefits from forests and/or recovered fiber are at the core of NCASI’s research associated with fiber sourcing. This expertise extends from the growing, harvesting, and processing of wood into fresh fiber, as well as the collection, conversion, and incorporation of recycled fiber in forest products. NCASI helps Member Companies answer critical questions throughout their fiber sourcing operations to reduce costs, increase yield, and address customer questions along the way. In this area, you will find information related to corporate sustainability reporting-related initiatives that require information regarding fiber sourcing, as well as NCASI research associated with the quantification of fiber sourcing-related effects within life cycle assessment (LCA).

For broader information related to the growing, harvesting, and processing of wood into fresh fiber, please refer to NCASI’s Forestry Program.
