West Coast Regional Meeting to be held in Vancouver, Washington

Plans are being made for the 2014 West Coast Regional Meeting, scheduled for Monday through Wednesday, September 22-24, at the Heathman Lodge in Vancouver, Washington. The program will include discussions of NCASI and industry technical and forest management studies, as well as important regulatory developments. Attendance by Member Company personnel and regulatory and university researchers concerned with these areas is encouraged.

Regional meetings such as this are designed to reduce travel costs and minimize time away from other duties, while providing opportunities for professional development for Member Company staff.

This year’s Forest Management Session (all day Wednesday) will present a suite of current scientific topics relevant for timberlands managers and will feature research of NCASI’s Western Wildlife and Forest Watershed Programs. Forest Watershed Program presentations will focus on water quality standards in forested landscapes. Western Wildlife Program topics will include ecosystem services provided by managed forests, woodland caribou, and avian response to intensive forest management.
