Water Reuse & Recycle

The concept of water recycle is useful in water resource management dialogue because it is a measure of how efficiently water is being used. The pulp and paper industry has one of the highest water recycle ratios of any industrial sector due to the extensive recycle of process and non-contact cooling waters within the mill. NCASI’s objectives in this research area are to develop methodologies and calculation tools to help our Member Companies accurately characterize water recycle at pulp and paper facilities, and to help contribute to the incorporation of water recycle metrics into water sustainability programs.
